Packing list for 4 weeks in a serviced apartment: What 21rooms provides and what you should bring

Four weeks in Ingolstadt with just one suitcase? It is possible if you know what is already waiting for you at your destination. The most common mistake during long-term stays is packing as if for a vacation rental and bringing along items that are already provided in the apartment.
What is already provided
The kitchen is fully equipped. Our apartments feature fully equipped Bosch kitchens: induction cooktop, oven, microwave, and refrigerator with freezer compartment. You will also find pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, and an espresso maker for your morning coffee. You can leave your kettle at home.
Bed linen and towels are provided and replaced during our weekly cleaning service. A hairdryer is available in the bathroom.
Toiletries are included as part of our basic amenities. While you will naturally want to bring your own personal favorites, you can skip packing those emergency travel-sized items.
Workspace and Wi-Fi are standard, including a desk, high-speed private internet, and a laptop safe in the wardrobe. You only need to bring your devices and charging cables.
Washing machine and dryer can be used via our digital in-house laundry service, accessible by app. This has a benefit that most people underestimate: you only need enough clothing for about a week, not for four.
What belongs on your packing list
- Clothing for seven to ten days, suitable for both work and leisure; the rest can be handled by the laundry facilities
- Laptop, chargers, and an adapter for a second monitor if needed
- Personal medication and documents (don't forget your ID for digital check-in)
- Sportswear: The Danube offers one of the most beautiful running routes in Bavaria, and the indoor swimming pool is just around the corner
- Your habits, your favorite spice, that special tea, your own brand of coffee. The little things that turn an apartment into a home.
What to buy locally
It is better to buy groceries and everyday essentials fresh once you arrive rather than transporting them across the country. Supermarkets, drugstores, and the weekly market at Theaterplatz are all within walking distance. You can find an overview in our Old Town Shopping Guide.
One suitcase is enough
That is essentially the whole concept of a serviced apartment: you move in with just a suitcase. Furniture, kitchenware, linens, internet, and cleaning—that is our job. To see how this differs from a traditional hotel, read our article on Serviced Apartment vs. Hotel.
For stays of several weeks or more, it is worth taking a look at our rates for temporary living. The longer you stay, the better the price.
